Number: 26.
Range: F sharp below middle C to G above middle C.
Material: Brass from various sources, including shower curtain rod.
Dimensions: From 8" x 3" dia. to 2" x 0.875" dia.
Operating Pressure: 20 psi.
Nine of the pipes were built by Ken Lloyd ( who had started to build a calliope of his own prior to illness and death ).

 VALVES:

A 0.50" brass globe valve body was used as the basis. This was bushed, machined , and otherwise dramatically altered. A "balanced" valve was created using 0.375" rod stock with an "O" ring to help create a seal.

 KEYBOARD:

Taken from an old electronic organ. The tracker mechanism is manual and was designed by Don Stagg and built by the owner ( See photo below ).

 ADDITIONAL:

Much of the design was based on an article by Tommy Thompson in the June, 1977 Live Steam magazine. With the exception of the nine whistles of Mr. Lloyd, the owner fabricated the calliope himself.
