At the pressent time the Discussion Forum does not function. We had been working since 2001 with a software company and were a part of the development testing program - read: it cost us nothing to use the software, they hosted the board, and there was NO ADVERTISING on the page! Unfortunately they seem to have disappeared! Their domain name - HotBB - has expired and they have not renewed it; and since their email address was tied to their domain name, my emails to them have been returned. I suppose it shouldn't be surprising as bulletin boards/forums are not the "fad" they used to be and there is, probably, little money to be had in developing software for them. "Blogs" are now the big thing.
Unfortunately, as they were developing the software ( when it was completed we would have received a free copy ) and it was hosted on their server, they had the program and all the files. I had no way to create a backup file and, therefore, everything has been lost.
The question is: Do you want an online Discussion Forum? And if so, what kind? Here are several I participate in - each with different formats:
THE Steamboating Forum - excellent group hosted out of the UK.
HasBrouck Engines - if you belong to a yahoo group, this one is easy to view.
Steamboats - another yahoo group.
SACA Phorum - a very technical forum with a lot of steam discussion.
Boiler Forum - hosted by a retired steam pipe fitter.
Boat Design.net - a very comprehensive and in depth forum. It's also easy to use.
