Events are arranged by date in ascending order. A "whistle" in front of an event denotes a recent or important listing. Whenever possible a hyperlink to a website/page of an event, or a person to email for information about a listing, has been included.
If you have an event on the West Coast which includes hobby steam and would like to have it listed, go to the bottom of this page for instructions.

August 10 thru 12 - 2012 Annual Northwest Steam Society Meet, Cap Sante Boat Marina, Anacortes, WA. It's gonna be a fun Meet with lots of room for steamboats and right in the country where it all started in the US. Tommy Thompson operated his Fire Canoe out of Anacortes in the mmid/late 1950s and Harold Lanning was around with DoDo. So this year's Meet will be back where a lot of hobby steamboaters cruised around in the "early days" of hobby steamboating. A complete description of the site, tides, moorage, launch ramp and all those "&cs" will be found on the "2012 meet" page of this website, or by clicking the "2012 meet" button to the left.
September 7 thru 10 - Siltcoos Lake, Westlake Resort, Dune City, Oregon. Just a few miles down the road from Florence on the Oregon Coast this is really steamboating country. Quiet, a minimum of 50mph-plastic-godda**its running around, good accomodations. If you miss out on this one, you've missed one of the best meets around. The date was moved from July to September to avoid the constant strong winds which plague the Oregon Coast in July/August. A complete description would take a page by itself, so the coordinator, Bruce Jahn, has put it all together HERE. You can contact Bruce at: email bruce@daysaver.com; tel 925.455.9409.

The Northwest Steam Society is interested in encouraging participation in hobby steam. To that end, we welcome listings of other steam hobby related events occurring primarily in the Pacific Northwest, but extending to the West Coast in general. If you have, or know of, an event, please contact the NWSS Webmaster by selecting the Icon to the right.
